With Sporting not giving up on signing Islam Slimani from Leicester City anytime soon, things are getting more intense lately.

Newspaper O Jogo brings a story today saying the striker has become a priority for the Lions, who have been making some ‘high pressing’ for his signing.

According to the outlet, the contacts between the clubs were intensified in the past few days, with Sporting trying to sign him on a loan deal.

The problem is that Leicester City are still looking for a permanent sale, as they try to recover part of the €30m spent on the player two years ago.

Although there are Turkish sides who are willing to buy Slimani according to the Portuguese claims (whilst in Turkey they insist it’s loan approaches), sources close to the player have told O Jogo that his wish is to return to Sporting.

So it seems like Leicester are in a complicated situation, where the player’s interests are not the same as the club’s.
