Expected to leave Marseille on a free at the end of the season, Boubacar Kamara still hasn’t chosen his next club.

The defender turned defensive midfielder is likely to have a good market this summer, such is his potential and versatility, and Manchester United were said to be targeting him.

There was a point where it seemed like the Red Devils were in the lead to get the Frenchman, although those voices soon died down, replaced by rumours about the next manager.

It could be that whoever replaces Ralf Rangnick might not want Kamara in their squad, but the general consensus is that the defensive midfielder just wants to give himself time to weigh up his options and decide at a later date.

Either way, Il Romanista look at AS Roma’s chances of getting the player, and explain that ‘it was said’ that the Marseille star ‘had already found an agreement with Manchester United’.

They point out ‘it may be true’, but there is still ‘no news in this sense’, meaning Kamara ‘remains a player free to accept the best offer’.

If Manchester United do come knocking, then they’re likely to give him bigger wages than Roma ever could, but if ‘they change their minds in Manchester’, the possibility of Jose Mourinho getting his man ‘would be topical again’.
