On Thursday afternoon Didier Deschamps will announce his France squad for the upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Russia.
France are one of the favourites for the World Cup this summer, having got to the final of Euro 2016, and they have an impressive number of players to be able to choose from.
With Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette injured, it gives Deschamps a chance to pick someone else for the friendlies, and L’Equipe suggest Celtic’s Moussa Dembele has a chance.
Dembele is the striker for France’s U21 side and L’Equipe believe that and his performances for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership could be enough to get him a shout.
Other options include Kevin Gameiro, Wissam Ben Yedder and Bafetimbi Gomis.
Brendan Rodgers and Celtic would surely be thrilled to see Dembele called up to the French squad, even if it would still remain unlikely he’d get to go the World Cup.
Transfer rumours around the youngster were kicked off again in France this week, and such a call up would aid Celtic’s bargaining position should they decide to sell.
