It seems that Italian side Torino continue to chase Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula. The long-time interest is being encouraged by the player’s restlessness at the Premier League side, according to Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport.
The outlet claims Torino have wanted the player since last summer, and were keen on signing him in the winter window as well. In order to land him this time, the club feel they need to improve their offer, which comprised of a loan with a buying option.
Stoke City are reportedly demanding €15m for the midfielder. The club would only accept a permanent move or a loan with an obligatory transfer at the end of the season. It seems to be a problem for Torino, but not enough to rule it out.
Since signing from Porto on a €25m deal in January 2016, Imbula made only 25 appearances for the Potters.
Tuttosport claim he’s recently asked to leave after falling out with the coaching staff, so this seems a good chance to fix things.
