German magazine Bild love all things Jurgen Klopp and love all things transfers, but they haven’t covered Naby Keita to Liverpool as much as the English media.
It may be because the midfielder’s current club Red Bull Leipzig have been so public in their stance over not selling. Perhaps in Germany that stance is taken as genuine and a transfer seen as unlikely.
After all, Ralf Rangnick insists Red Bull have no pain threshold and won’t sell Keita even if the offer goes into triple figures. Rangnick made those comments last week, but Bild believe it didn’t stop Liverpool offering €65m.
Whilst the approach is called ‘concrete’ it seems it hasn’t swayed Red Bull, there’s still no wavering, and Bild believe that’s not a show.
Klopp is ‘desperate’ to sign the player, according to Bild, and specifically Keita, rather than a player who can do similar.
There must be a pain threshold, regardless of what Rangnick says, it’s a question of whether Liverpool will go high enough to find out what it is.
