Following the win over Marseille in the south of France, Tottenham have qualified for the first knockout rounds of the Champions League.

This was one of the aims Antonio Conte will have set himself in what was a relatively tricky group, and despite it taking to the very last minute, the goal was achieved.

Tottenham can now look forward to the draw for the next stage, where they could easily find themselves pitted against the manager’s former team, Inter.

Conte won the Serie A title during his time in Milan, and will have a relatively strong affinity for the club, but that doesn’t mean he won’t want to beat them if the opportunity arises, just to show them that leaving when he did was the right thing to do.

However, flipping the coin, there are some who would want Inter to face Tottenham because they feel they are the easier opponents.

That’s the case for Stéphane Dalmat, who played for both teams during his career, spending time on loan at Spurs for a bit when he was contracted to the Serie A side.

Asked by L’Interista who he’d like to see Inter draw, he said: “Given that they are all very strong, I say Conte’s Tottenham, because of all of them, they seem to be the least equipped to me.”
