Turkish newspaper Takvim report Fenerbahce are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Mousa Dembele.

The Belgian international’s contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season, and subsequently he will be free to speak with overseas clubs in the new year with regards to a pre-contract agreement.

Takvim report Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has identified Dembele as a target and the Frenchman has plans to meet with him to discuss a move to Istanbul.

It’s also claimed Comolli is close friends with the Tottenham player’s agent and Fenerbahce are ready to offer a decent signing on fee to tempt Dembele.

The former Fulham midfielder has been a key player for Tottenham in recent seasons, and at 31 years of age he’s been open about temptations to cash-in with a move to China. Serie A clubs have also been linked with Dembele.

The 31-year old has played 13 games for Tottenham this season with 10 of those coming in the Premier League.

Turkey would be a strange choice for the Belgian. If he wants money, he’d likely get more in England, Italy or China, and the standard of football is higher in the first two.
