Leeds United will be sending a team from the lower age range of their academy to a prestigious tournament being held in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo report the Championship club will send an U13 side to a tournament organised by Basque club Real Sociedad.

The youngsters going on the Leeds United trip will be up against some really tough opposition.

Mundo Deportivo report that teams confirmed so far in the U13 category are Spanish sides Real Madrid, Valencia, Celta Vigo and Osasuna, Sporting from Portugal, with Leeds United being the English representation.

Hosts Real Sociedad will of course also be fielding a side.

There’s no reference of Cultural Leonesa being involved in the tournament, so this doesn’t look to be a trip organised through Leeds United’s Aspire connections.

Two more teams will be joining those already named, and they’ve had to come through a qualifying process which started in January.
