Carlo Ancelotti will shortly be announced as the new Real Madrid manager after freeing himself from his contract at Everton.

That’s according to MARCA, who say the Italian’s return is now a matter of when not if after an intense day of speculation.

Ancelotti has been linked with a return to the Bernabeu all day after reports over the weekend indicated they were pushing for him to come back.

Reports have been steadily streaming in through the day that he was closing in on the move, with negotiations underway with Everton to remove him from his contract at Goodison Park.

MARCA now say that is sorted, stating that ‘Ancelotti is no longer Everton manager’ and his return to Everton is ‘done’.

They report that Real Madrid have ‘tied’ themselves to Ancelotti and will shortly announce his return after they ‘disconnected’ him from Everton.

Those in charge at the Spanish giants don’t want to delay the announcement any longer, so they will announce his arrival as soon as possible.
