Although it appears that André Onana could be on his way to Arsenal, the idea of Wojciech Szczesny making a return to the Gunners hasn’t gone away.

Coming off the back of a rather disappointing Premier League campaign, Mikel Arteta appears set to make a few changes at the Emirates, and some added competition for Bernd Leno appears to be on the agenda.

The German has been the number one for a while now, but has never really been challenged since Emilian Martinez was sold to Aston Villa.

That’s why the idea of Szczesny making a return amid all the stories of Gianluigi Donnarumma potentially heading to Juventus on a free make sense.

On top of being a good goalkeeper, he’s also home grown at the club, and that’s why Corriere Torino explain the English market is being ‘looked at’ for the player, where ‘a return to Arsenal isn’t excluded’.

It was there last week, it’s still here this week, and it’s certainly one we’ll be keeping an eye on if the Premier League club don’t make the leap for Onana.
