Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap is in London undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move to Bayern Munich.

That’s according to journalist Christian Falk, who says the potential transfer to the Allianz Arena is ‘hot again’ following weeks of speculation.

Bella-Kotchap has long been expected to join the exodus from Southampton this summer as their squad is completely reshaped following relegation to the Championship last season.

He’s found himself in a tug of war between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund over the last few weeks, but a report earlier today indicated that the latter had stepped aside, leaving him free to go to Bayern.

That report indicated that Bella-Kotchap had already reached an agreement on personal terms with Bayern and was waiting for them to strike an agreement with Southampton before potentially making a deadline day move.

Falk now reports a deal has been struck on a loan deal that will see the German giants pay €3.5m for the privilege. He doesn’t mention if there is a purchase clause or obligation included.

What he does say is the agreement is now in place and Bella-Kotchap is undergoing a medical in London ahead of completing his transfer.
