Tuttosport report Juventus haven’t gone cold on the trail of Liverpool’s Emre Can. Always in the market for a bargain, and a very attractive club for players to join, Juventus have a string of impressive free and low cost signings, and that Can be next is no secret.
The Turin newspaper say that at the weekend there was another meeting between the Liverpool midfielder’s agent and officials of Juventus. The Serie A champions were in the city for a match against AC Milan, and used their San Siro trip to advance Can proceedings.
As it stands, there’s still a possibility Can could extend at Liverpool, and he’s not thought to be unhappy at the club, but Juventus certainly isn’t being dismissed as an option, and meetings with the Italian club show there’s at least some level of interest.
Other clubs are said to be interested in Can, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich named, but Juventus believe all the groundwork they’ve been doing, which Tuttosport say includes telephone calls as well as meetings, gives them an advantage.
All the power rests with Can, and even if he stays at Anfield, the interest from elsewhere is sure to make any deal deal more costly for Liverpool.
