Former Brazil international Edmundo claims Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison is ‘on the radar’ of another, with big hints a transfer is on the cards.
The 53-year-old talked about the forward as an option for Vasco da Gama on his YouTube channel. His comments are relayed by CNN Brasil.
Edmundo graduated from the Brazilian club’s academy and had four spells with their first team. He’s backing his former club to bolster the squad in 2025 and insists the Tottenham player is on their list.
“Now, the idea is to keep all the main players and hire two or three heavyweight players. One for the defence, one for the midfield and two for the attack. Heavyweight like Richarlison. I’m dreaming and I can guarantee that 2025 will be different,” he said.
CNN Brasil points out Edmundo has close ties with Vasco da Gama president Pedrinho. It’s quite possible he’s gathered information about a desire to sign the 27-year-old from the club official.
Richarlison was linked with a move to Vasco da Gama in the summer window, but his entourage reacted quickly to dismiss it.
It needs to be seen whether Richarlison’s camp will respond to Edmundo’s suggestion that his former club could consider signing him next year.
The Brazil international has made two substitute appearances for Tottenham this season. He’s been sidelined with an injury since the end of August, and this forced him to miss the last international break.
