Dusan Vlahovic’s situation at Fiorentina continues to be something of a drama, as the striker continues to make a difference on the pitch.

La Viola are sixth in Serie A, level on points with Juventus, who are a place above them. Fiorentina have scored 27 goals in the competition so far this season, and 16 of those have come from the 21-year-old striker.

He’s scored 15 goals in 17 appearances in total this season, adding to his 21 from the last campaign. It’s little wonder the Serbian has caught the attention of Arsenal and others, but Corriere Fiorentino reports that despite widespread and growing interest, it’s only the Gunners who have made a ‘real offer’.

That Arsenal offer has previously been put at €80m+, and we’ve stated on repeat occasions such a figure seems high for a first attempt. Therefore, the possibility exists of Fiorentina using a supposed Arsenal offer to hike their player’s value.

Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s side are said to remain in the picture. Vlahovic’s agents aren’t keen to speak to them, and they don’t seem overly keen to speak to Fiorentina right now either.

The report adds: ‘Certainly, the rumours reported yesterday by the Rai 3 broadcasting report, which highlighted links between the agency that looks after Vlahovic’s interests and the Serbian government, are also debated on the matter. In fact, some documents reveal a close relationship between Dejan Grgic, partner of the International Sports Office and of the Ristic prosecutor, and the mother of Novac Nedic, secretary general of the Serbian government.’

Quite what that could mean for Arsenal interest isn’t made clear.
