Eintracht Frankfurt obviously have many reasons to focus on the Europa League final against Rangers, which will be played in Seville on the 18th of May.
Now it seems they have an extra boost to beat Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, as according to claims from Germany, the Bundesliga side have been promised a ‘mega-bonus’ if they triumph over Rangers.
Bild claims there’s a €2m prize waiting to be shared between players, coaches and staff. The information was confirmed by Frankfurt director Markus Krosche.
“We clarified that before the start of the Europa League. We plan things in advance,” said Krosche.
Frankfurt’s squad had already won other bonuses in the campaign, as both the qualifications against Barcelona in the quarter-finals and versus West Ham United in the semi-finals gave them a prize of €1m each. The club had already won the UEFA Cup back in 1980, and now look for this second title against Rangers.
As part of their preparations for the match, coach Oliver Glasner banned players from any ‘party trips’ they could be planning for this week, as they’re having a couple of days off.
With the German side so focused on the title, Rangers better be prepared for the big match next week.
