Tim Steidten reportedly being told to stay away from the dressing room at West Ham United may not be a huge surprise, but it’s certainly causing chuckles around the European sport media.
West Ham United’s chase for a new manager is quite clearly no secret and has been reported across the continent, with various names picked out as Hammers targets and various claims about the club’s efforts to get them.
During April, Steidten himself spoke to the German media and insisted there was no issue or working problems between himself and Moyes but the rumours have been around for a while and the manager leaving is seen as increasingly likely.
One of the main candidates to be linked with West Ham has been Ruben Amorim, who has been impressing with Sporting and is set to again win the league title with the possibility of a double on the way.
The Hammers have held talks with the manager and he seemingly rejected them, but Friday’s edition of Record doesn’t present it as all being completely dead. The Steidten drama is explained and it’s claimed Amorim could still be the man who takes Moyes’ seat.
One to keep an eye on, especially once Sporting have confirmed their title win.
