Giovanni van Bronckhorst hasn’t had a great September at Rangers, seeing his side lose both of their matches 4-0.

On the 3rd of this month, they lost 4-0 to Celtic, with Liel Abada getting a brace and Jota and David Turnbull also finding the back of the net. Then came another 4-0 defeat for Rangers, this time against Ajax in the Champions League, and their next game, against Aberdeen, was postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth.

Rangers continue to face alterations to their schedule, and now face Napoli at home on Wednesday evening, with no away fans being allowed at the match. In the interest of fairness, it has also been announced that no away fans will be allowed at the return game, and the situation has obviously caused annoyance for some.

Lorenzo Amoruso played for Rangers from 1997 to 2003 and is the man the Italian media turn to when they want comment on the Scottish Premiership club.

The 51-year-old believes Napoli will be able to cope with the intense atmosphere they’re set to face at Ibrox, because their own fans can be extremely loud too. He also explained that Van Bronckhorst is currently struggling to get what he needs from his squad.

CalcioNapoli24 quote him as saying: “Napoli knows the Neapolitan environment well and the Rangers fans are more or less like that. There will be an inferno but Napoli are accustomed to, the only problem can be be Napoli itself that comes from important results and could let their guard down. The coach of the Scots played at Arsenal and went to Barcelona. You must also have the right interpreters to make your football happen. There are important players but at the moment they are not performing as they should.”
