Rıdvan Yılmaz has been a regular for Rangers since Philippe Clement took charge at Ibrox last October.

Clement has managed 12 league games for Rangers so far and the left-back has featured in 10 of them. That hasn’t stopped him from being linked with a move away from Ibrox in the winter market.

Fanatik journalist Gökmen Özcan took to X to state that the 22-year-old wants to leave Rangers this month.

He suggests the Turkey international will ‘play sporadically’ under Philippe Clement, if he were to continue at Ibrox in the second half of this season.

This could impact his chances of representing the national team at the Euros since Turkey manager Vincenzo Montella has demanded Yılmaz feature regularly for his club.

Özcan’s claim of the defender not featuring regularly under the Rangers manager doesn’t add up, if the aforementioned statistics are taken into account.

When discussing Yılmaz’s option, the journalist states Galatasaray’s attempt to sign him has ended while Hellas Verona are the most serious option for him now.

On Monday, both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere Di Veron reported the Serie A side are ‘very close’ to securing the Rangers fullback’s services.
