Rangers FC’s move for Besiktas defender Ridvan Yilmaz is now set to be finalised after the two clubs reached an agreement.

That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who say the player ‘will be a new Rangers player’ this summer.

Earlier today, we covered a report that stated Rangers had reached a €6.5m ‘agreement in principle’ for the defender, who Giovanni van Bronckhorst is targeting as a replacement for Calvin Bassey.

Galetti now backs that up, stating an agreement has been reached with Besiktas for a deal worth €4m plus €2.25m in bonuses.

The defender has also already reached an agreement on his contract at Ibrox, with him set to earn a salary of €800,000 a year for five years.

That works out at just over €16,500 a week in wages.

Yilmaz is now presumably set to fly to Scotland for a medical with Rangers before finalising his Ibrox move and becoming their latest addition this summer.

The key part is that the financial negotiations between all three parties have now been finalised, meaning this deal should be wrapped up sooner rather than later.
