It’s no surprise certain Parma players wanted to leave the club after they were relegated from Serie A last season.

Yann Karamoh was among them and after reports of Crystal Palace interest emerged a few weeks ago, Sheffield United came forward to sign him late in the recently concluded window.

The Blades wanted to acquire the forward’s services and TuttoMercatoWeb reported on deadline day that they had found an agreement with the Italian club for a transfer.

It was also stated the 23-year-old had ‘reached an agreement’ with the Championship side and underwent medical tests in France on Monday.

The attacker was expected to arrive in England yesterday to sign his contract before completing a switch to Bramall Lane.

That, however, didn’t happen and another report from TuttoMercatoWeb explains Slaviša Jokanović’s side didn’t manage to sign the Ivory Coast international because he failed to obtain a work permit to play in England.

Therefore, Karamoh’s move to Sheffield United was ‘interrupted’ and the player will stay at Parma, at least until the end of this year.
