Picking up a hamstring injury after just three appearances from the bench at Monaco, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has only played 20 minutes of football since January.
Still sidelined, the Frenchman, currently on loan from Tottenham, is a doubt to return before the end of the campaign, and it appears unlikely the Ligue 1 side will make any attempt at extending his stay with them.
L’Equipe hint at this on Friday as they explain one of Monaco’s aims this summer is to lighten their wage bill and reduce their squad size, currently comprised of 74 professionals, 24 of which are out on loan and five loaned to them, including N’Koudou.
They mention Adrien Silva and Gelson Martins as two players the club would like to keep beyond this season, since the pair have featured regularly under Leonardo Jardim after the Portuguese manager took over from Thierry Henry towards the end of January.
For N’Koudou, it looks like a return to Tottenham’s new stadium, where a decision will need to be made, as he has two years left on his contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.Either they give him yet another chance to prove himself at Spurs, or they look to offload him, either permanently, or, if there’s no takers, yet again temporarily.
