Eric Bailly could be facing a spell on the sidelines once more, just a week after finalising his exit from Manchester United, after limping out of a clash with Fatih Karagümrük.

That’s according to Milliyet, who say the defender ‘could not finish’ the first half of the friendly, due to muscle pain.

The newspaper explains that Bailly, who was signed from Manchester United, was one of two news faces in Besiktas’ starting line up alongside Ante Rebic for the friendly clash this week.

However, unlike his fellow signing, disaster appears to have struck with it reported that the Ivory Coast defender could not finish the first half of the game due to a pain he felt in a muscle.

He reportedly headed to the sidelines complaining of a pain shortly before the end of the first half and Besiktas’ doctors and technical staff decided not to risk their new signing.

They took the decision to remove him from the game and the plan is for Bailly to undergo an MRI scan if the pain continues. If not, he will continue training should the issue subside.

He will certainly be hoping it is the latter and not a continuation of his time at Manchester United, which was riddled and eventually ruined by continuous niggling injuries.
