Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Fábio Silva is getting huge praise in his home country’s media today.

The reason is his performance in Portugal’s U21 match against Belarus. In their 5-0 win, the striker scored two goals and added two assists.

Many outlets now take a step forward to highlight Silva’s performance. One of them is Observador, who recall that even though the player has been around for a while, people shouldn’t forget about how young he still is.

‘Portugal were much better in terms of display quality and ended up putting the game to bed in the first half with João Neves taking charge of any team he plays for, João Marques making a dream debut for the national team and Fábio Silva at the highest level showing that he is committed to relaunching a career that after leaving FC Porto had an unsuccessful spell at Wolverhampton but grew again with loans to Anderlecht and PSV last season before the return to England of a player who, despite everything, is only 21 years old.’

Website ZeroZero is another one praising Silva. As they describe the game events, they try to explain how influential the Wolves starlet was in the win over Belarus.

‘Believe us, dear reader, there’s no mistaking the number of times we’re about to talk about Fábio Silva. The Wolverhampton striker really did have one of those afternoons to remember, and was involved in four of Portugal’s five goals.’

Silva had already done well last week, when Portugal U21s beat Andorra 3-0. In that game, he had one goal and one assist.

To sum it up, the striker has three goals and three assists in just two games while on international duty, and is undoubtedly returning to Wolves with high morale.

Playing for the Molineux side, he has one goal in five matches this season, and now prepares for their game against Liverpool on Saturday.
