Banfield wonderkid Agustin Urzi has been interviewed by Argentina’s TNT Sports this week, speaking a little about the attention he’s been drawing from big clubs.
And besides confirming there’s a long list of pretenders who’ve been in touch to sign him, the 19-year-old has hinted at a wish to play for Premier League side Manchester City.
It first started with him saying the clubs who want him, in a list which includes European giants from Spain, Italy and Portugal.
“Boca, Racing, Inter, River, Rome, Benfica, Atlético Madrid as well and I don’t remember any more. Fiorentina maybe, most of them were from Italy. They all contacted my representative and the club,” Urzi told TNT Sports.
Then he was asked if there’s a specific league he’d like to play in, with the interviewer mentioning MLS. He agreed with it, but said the Premier League holds some special attraction for him.
“The Premier League is a league where I’d like to play, with my old man I watch Manchester City a lot.”
He was asked if he’d like to play with Kun Aguero, but quickly tried to dismiss the story getting bigger: “Yeah, forget it (laughs).”
Besides succeeding for Banfield, Agustín Urzi has also been excelling for Argentina’s youth ranks, being a regular starter in the team which got the qualification for the Olympics earlier this year.
