Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has blocked Jason Denayer’s move to Galatasaray according to Hurriyet. Earlier today we covered reports that Denayer was expected in Turkey, but Guardiola has always been determined to block the move, and it seems he’s managed to do so.

Galatasaray CEO Levent Nazifoglu said at Nigel de Jong’s unveiling: ”He (Denayer) only wanted us but his club blocked it. There’s nothing we can do right now. Hopefully we’ll be back in for him during the winter transfer window. He’s a wonderful player and we know how much he loves us.”

Denayer reportedly told Guardiola if he’s not allowed to leave for CimBom than he’s staying at Manchester City because the 21-year old has no interest joining the other clubs chasing him. Sunderland and Swansea City have been linked with the young Belgian, but it seems he doesn’t want a move to either Premier League side.

The Belgian defender spent last season on loan at Galatasaray where he made 28 appearances. Denayer was part of the team which won the Turkish cup by beating fierce rivals Fenerbahce in the final.
