Pau Lopez

La Grada, who specialise in Espanyol news, are reporting on Wednesday afternoon that Tottenham are panicking their Pau Lopez deal could collapse. There’s a worry Espanyol won’t agree to the move because they haven’t brought in a replacement for the player yet, despite having plenty of time to do so.

That’s led Tottenham to star talks to sign Brazilian keeper Diego Alves from Valencia, with that deal being a back-up option, or perhaps something to put some pressure on Valencia.

At the same time, Marca report Espanyol are in talks to sign Diego Lopez, who has been at AC Milan and is now available for free. They’ve been in those talks for several days, and that delay is what is delaying Tottenham and Pau.

The whole situation is increasingly confusing and it’s not helped by the golakeepers having names which seem to merge: Pau Lopez, Diego Alves, Diego Lopez.
