Even though Ecuador are still to release the squad which will feature in the upcoming rounds of the World Cup qualifiers, it’s known that Brighton & Hove Albion fullback Pervis Estupinan won’t be in involved.

The player now confirmed that due to a hamstring injury, he’s set to miss several matches, and not only for the Seagulls, as that includes the international break.

As Colombia are facing Ecuador in an upcoming fixtures, outlet Semana now features a story about the Brighton player’s issue.

The outlet writes that’s a ‘painful absence’ in the squad, as Estupinan is a ‘key’ player for his national team.

It’s recalled that the fullback previously gave Colombia some problems, as he scored in Ecuador’s 6-1 win over them, and his injury is ‘sensitive’ for manager Felix Sanchez, who’ll need to look for alternatives in the squad.

For now, it’s only known that Estupinan is out for a few weeks, so Brighton will have to see how his recovery will go.

Ecuador will be playing Bolivia on the 12th of October, and then Colombia on the 17th.
