For the past week or so, various claims from Brazil have explained Flamengo have been working to sign Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.

On August 18th, O Dia journalist Venê Casagrande reported the Rio de Janeiro club have found an agreement with the Red Devils for the midfielder’s transfer on a loan deal with a buying option for €15m.

UOL are also reporting the 25-year-old will join Flamengo on a loan deal with a ‘fixed option to purchase’.

It’s claimed the Manchester United owned player is ‘one step away’ and only ‘final details’ are left to be sorted out for him to leave Old Trafford on a temporary deal.

As of now, only the documents related to the operation separate the player, who spent last season on loan at Lazio, from joining the Brazilian club.

Flamengo have made it to the Copa do Brasil quarter-final and the last date to register a new player for the competition is next Tuesday.

Although there’s enough time to complete the deal, Flamengo leaders will be nervous until Pereira signs the contract. Until then, those involved in the deal ‘keep a certain amount of caution’ as lawyers ‘rush to get everything in order as soon as possible to seal the contract’ with Manchester United.
