Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in two ex-Chelsea players who saw their contracts expire this summer.

According to Calcio Mercato, the club have Brazilian defender Alex and Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia ‘in the viewfinder’.

Alex didn’t renew with AC Milan after two years at the Italian side and is still to find a new home. He was close to joining Santos, since he was getting treatment at the Brazilian club’s facilities, but the board decided not to sign him.

The former Chelsea defender was also on the verge of signing for Porto but failed his medicals, according to reports from Portugal.

Marco Amelia spent the last season at Chelsea as a third goalkeeper. He failed to make any official appearances for the club and didn’t extend his contract.

Calcio Mercato have no information on how advanced things are, but as both players are free agents, it’s just a matter of convincing them with a juicy contract.
