Because 18 signings weren’t enough in one transfer window, Nottingham Forest are aiming to go for a nice round 20, as they target two players from Ligue 1.

That’s according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who claims Steve Cooper’s side have put in two offers for Loïc Badé (a centre-back) and Ludovic Ajorque (a striker).

The former currently plays at Rennes, where he has fallen out of favour under Bruno Genesio following the signings of Arthur Theate and Joe Rodon, and is also a target for Southampton, who are similarly keen to bolster their backline.

The interest from Nottingham Forest was also reported by Foot Mercato earlier on Thursday.

As for Ajorque, he is a very tall striker, who has shown to be prolific under the right circumstances, and could do some damage against Premier League defences.

Nottingham Forest, however, don’t seem overly keen to fully commit to either player, as Genuardi states the bids made by the Tricky Trees are ‘loans with options to buy’.

We’ll have to wait and see what comes of these, but it’s clear Cooper still isn’t fully happy with what he has, as he looks to build a strong squad for the current season.

Either way, Nottingham Forest seem happy to give him the tools needed, and will likely continue to make offers until the very last minute of the transfer window.
