Liverpool’s deadline day move for Juventus midfielder Arthur has been labelled as ‘sensational’ with the Reds a surprising late option for the Brazilian.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who cover the potential move today and Liverpool’s willingness to pay the midfielder a huge wage.

They explain that the player’s agent has managed to find a last-minute destination that Arthur ‘is happy with’ in Liverpool having been linked with a move away from Juventus all summer.

He also had options from Sporting and Nice but those have been dropped and the midfielder will now ‘look for space’ at Anfield as he tries to get into Brazil’s World Cup squad.

He’s already said goodbye to Juventus and is travelling from Turin to Liverpool for medical examinations and to complete his transfer.

For most of the summer his €7m salary had ‘stopped all possible buyers’ but not Liverpool, who have agreed to pay him that amount as they look for a last-minute addition to their midfield.

There is no mention of a purchase clause being included in the deal, but it is seen as a ‘sensational’ deadline day move that nobody saw coming and again shows that the Premier League is ‘from another planet’ in terms of financial might.
