Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in the signing of Vitória Guimarães goalkeeper Bruno Varela.

This chase was first reported by Portuguese outlet Record, who, in a very short story, claimed the Reds made an approach to ‘evaluate the possibility’ of landing the player in the January transfer window.

There were no more details brought by that outlet, but the news was soon confirmed by website Desporto Ao Minuto, who backed up the pursuit from Nottingham Forest.

The outlet points out that the Tricky Trees need a replacement for the injured Dean Henderson, and tried to understand whether Vitória Guimarães would be open to negotiating Varela in the January window.

Desporto Ao Minuto claims that besides having a contract with the Portuguese club until 2024, the goalkeeper is crucial for the squad.

That’s an argument they will use when negotiating with Nottingham Forest.

For now, there’s no information on how much Vitória Guimarães will demand for the transfer, but Varela seems not to be the only target the Reds have, as earlier today, we also covered a story about their interest in Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.
