On August 24th, O Jogo stated Nottingham Forest had their eyes set on FC Porto’s Zaidu after a deal for Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares didn’t materialise.

The Tricky Trees have shifted their focus to the Arsenal defender and the deal is well on track to go through.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain that the left-back should continue in the Premier League by joining Nottingham Forest.

It’s claimed Steve Cooper’s side and the Gunners closed an agreement for the 23-year-old’s transfer on Thursday afternoon on a loan deal [€1m loan fee] with an option to buy set at €14m.

The Portuguese may have undergone a medical with Nottingham Forest as TMW state all that’s missing is the official announcement, and this should take place in the ‘next few hours’, barring any late twist in the saga.

Arsenal signed Tavares from Benfica in 2021 and loaned him to Marseille last season, where he scored six goals from 39 games while operating as a left wing-back. He’s now set to go out on another loan move, this time to Nottingham Forest.
