On Thursday, Calciomercato.it staed West Ham United have taken the lead in the race to sign Juventus’ Filip Kostić and that he gave his approval to join the Hammers.

The Hammers wanted to sign the 30-year-old before he left Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, and are provided with an opportunity to land him on deadline day.

Calciomercato have a report on West Ham’s interest in the winger, who can also operate as a left wing-back.

The Serbia international is not included in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, which is why he hasn’t featured this season.

It’s claimed the Turin club side ‘are in a hurry’ to offload him and are in constant contact with West Ham to find an agreement.

The Old Lady’s desire is to earn at least €15m, with the chance of loan with an option to buy, which the report states is ‘more like an obligation to buy’.

Calciomercato explain that the ‘biggest problem is time’ as the window closes later today and there is ‘a lot of paperwork to sign’ in a deal to take the versatile player to West Ham.

The contacts continue between West Ham and Juve, and the websites explains that ‘it’s just a matter of a few turns of the clock’ for Kostić’s farewell.
