On Tuesday morning, it was reported that Celtic, looking for a striker to help out Brendan Rodgers’ squad, had come forward for Sydney van Hooijdonk.

The Dutch forward has been a long-term target for the Scottish Premiership side, and this was the first real sign that something was brewing behind the scenes.

However, as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Celtic aren’t the only club after the Bologna striker, as Norwich City have also come forward.

It’s said that the Canaries have made a ‘concrete offer’ for the 23-year-old, but it ‘remains to be seen’ how the situation evolves going forward.

It isn’t said how much Norwich City have put forward for the Celtic target, but with talks of Adam Idah potentially heading to Hellas Verona, we could be witnessing the early stages of a late striker merry go round.

Now, we have to wait and see what Brendan Rodgers’ side have planned in the coming days, needing to potentially convince Sydney van Hooijdonk to choose them over Norwich.

That being said, considering who his father is, that probably won’t be too difficult.
