On May 18th, Calciomercato stated Newcastle United are willing to bet on signing Adrien Rabiot again after failing to seal a deal for the Juventus player in January 2022.

It was also reported the Serie A side are trying to keep the midfielder, who has a deal expiring in June. His contract situation has resulted in interest from several clubs, including the Magpies.

This is echoed by French Journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who took to Twitter to provide more updates on Newcastle’s desire to sign the 28-year-old in the summer.

Amid interest from other clubs, Genuardi claims Newcastle ‘should not be underestimated’ in the race for the former Paris Saint-Germain man.

Eddie Howe’s side could offer him a deal worth €12m per year [likely net] plus a signing bonus.

The France international is demanding an annual salary of at least €10m and this makes it highly unlikely that he can continue with the Turin club beyond this season. This should come as a boost for Newcastle, considering it’s claimed they would be ready to offer €2m more than the wages he requested.

Having secured Champions League football will also be an advantage for the Magpies.
