According to Fanatik, Besiktas president Fikret Orman is demanding €23m from any clubs interested in signing Cenk Tosun.

Tosun has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent weeks, with claims the Premier League side are lining up a bid for the player, and this week they reportedly met with Besiktas officials in London to discuss Tosun. At that brief meeting, Newcastle were said to have been told €20m would do the trick.

The Turkish newspaper says the Besiktas president doesn’t want to lose the club’s prize asset half way through the season, but a bid in the region of €23m could be considered.

Earlier this week, we covered reports from Turkish press that Besiktas have identified Andre Pierre Gignac as a replacement for Tosun if he leaves for England in the next window.

Newcastle United tabled a bid of £8m in the summer, but this was rejected instantly by the Turkish champions. However, this hasn’t deterred the Premier League side, and they’ve maintained their interest in Tosun this season.

It was claimed last month Newcastle United are lining up a €20m bid for Tosun in the new year, but given these latest developments they may need to increase this.
