Everyone has some kind of opinion on Brexit, or are at least expected to. Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez is in Spain where he’s been helping with a summer football camp, very traditional in Spain, and meeting children who were lucky enough to be included in ‘A Day with Ayoze Perez’.

Spain’s El Dia thought it would be apt to ask the Newcastle footballer about his opinions on Brexit. Perez tried to get out of it and explained: “I heard about, I have received some news about it, but being here on my vacation, it is not the time to dwell on that matter. What has to happen will happen.”

Asked about whether the vote could impact upon his own future, Perez said: “I do not know, I do not want to think too much about what will happen, only in training. I have not had a chance to discuss the matter with my teammates.”

Before Perez dives into the great Brexit debates of Newcastle United’s pre-season training, the footballer made it clear he feels loyal to his current club.

Following Newcastle’s relegation to the Championship, Perez has been linked with a move elsewhere, but he certainly sounds committed: “I have a contract until 2021, I was part of the relegation and I am preparing to return my best.”
