France’s RMC mash a few stories from England together about Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United and tell Manchester United fans there’s no reason to be fearful, because a transfer is set to happen.

Ibrahimovic is currently on holiday in Monte Carlo, say RMC, and won’t be signing for Manchester United until he’s picked up a €5m loyalty bonus from PSG. A claimed figure which seems to rise by the week. RMC say that figure has come from The Daily Star and that Sky Sports think a transfer is very close.

There’s something about this which doesn’t sit right. Ibrahimovic had an excellent relationship with PSG, he is a club legend and always will be. The club’s owners are well aware of the impact Ibrahimovic made and will likely always be thankful to him for that.

Therefore, it’s got to be considered unlikely they’d hold up a deal or not pay a bonus just because a Manchester United move was announced earlier. Indeed, if the bonus does exist, it could be a wonderful opportunity for them to puff their chest out and announce they were settling it early, as a thank you to their hero.

Maybe it’s more likely that Ibrahimovic’s move is held up because of the holiday. He has a young family, has just finished Euro 2016, along with his international career, and a few days or longer without a bigger circus than normal may well be just what he wants for his family.

Once a Manchester United transfer is announced, everything changes.
