According to claim in the Turkish media, Newcastle United and Lyon will be at the Istanbul derby today to watch Galatasaray attacker Garry Rodrigues.

The Cape Verde international has been linked with Newcastle United in recent months.

Star report the two clubs will be attendance for the game between Galatasaray and Besiktas, which will be the last time Newcastle United and Lyon will scout Rodrigues this season.

There have been rumours the 27 year old may not start the game, but this hasn’t deterred Newcastle United or Lyon travelling to Turkey. With this last chance to see Rodrigues before the next transfer window today could be decisive in either club committing to signing the player.

Newcastle United have already had two offers rejected by Galatasaray for Rodrigues in the past two windows, and it’s likely the Premier League side would need to bid up to €20m this summer.

The winger has impressed for Galatasaray this season, but his performances have fallen off in recent weeks following speculation about his future.
