Kevin Trapp has 180 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this season, which tells the story of his role at PSG now. With Alphonse Areola first choice for Unai Emery, and rumours persistent about the club bringing in another top stopper, a PSG exit looks right for Trapp, sooner or later.

L’Equipe have a look at the situation in their Sunday edition, and bring Newcastle United and Crystal Palace into the equation. Both clubs have been repeatedly linked with goalkeepers, and it would be no surprise if Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson are making real efforts to strengthen in that department right now.

However, L’Equipe talk down their chances of getting Trapp. Newcastle and Crystal Palace are both said to have made some sort of contact over signing Trapp, although the timing isn’t clear, but both lack ‘real sporting guarantees’ according to the French newspaper.

Basically, a relegation battle with either Newcastle or Crystal Palace isn’t thought to be attractive enough for Trapp.

PSG aren’t convinced either, feeling they should probably keep Trapp until at least the summer, as they want to have a good level back-up.
