Over the weekend, we covered an article from Italy regarding Nottingham Forest and West Ham joining Newcastle United in the chase for Nicolo Zaniolo.

Considering the clubs that have been interested in the Italy international in the past, a move to the Tricky Trees or London Stadium might not be what the player wants, but with the Magpies continuing their great form in the Premier League, St James’ Park could become a more attractive destination by the week.

Newcastle continue to be pushed as potential buyers of the AS Roma star, with Corriere dello Sport adding a bit more on Monday.

While a move in January ‘is not conceivable’, it certainly could be in the summer, as his contract with the Serie A side expires in 2024.

It’s believed that their demands ‘will drop drastically’ compared to the €50m they were requesting last year, and they add he has ‘many admirers’ in England.

Tottenham and Arsenal are mentioned as clubs who ‘already tried’ to sign the player in the past, while Newcastle are ‘also ready to invest a significant amount’ in the forward.

The likes of Juventus and Milan could also try their luck in Italy, but we all know they will not be able to financially compete with Premier League clubs.

As for Zaniolo, there is still ‘a lot of distance between the requests of the player’s entourage’ and what AS Roma are offering to renew his contract, meaning that particular situation isn’t likely to become unstuck any time soon.
