Manchester City had scouts at Sunday’s match between Porto and Famalicão in the Portuguese League.

That’s today reported by newspaper A Bola, who says Pep Guardiola’s side had an official on a ‘spying’ mission.

Manchester City’s visit to the Estádio do Dragão is also confirmed by O Jogo. However, none of the reports say if the Citizens had a specific target to watch.

Porto had an easy 4-1 win, as the score was already 4-0 when Famalicão managed to find their lone goal.

The player who impressed the most was undoubtedly Brazilian winger Galeno, who had two goals and an assist, despite also having an incredible miss in the second half.

Other Porto players who may have drawn the scouts’ eyes were right-back João Mário, midfielder Otávio and striker Taremi, all with their performances highlighted by the Portuguese media.

Manchester City scouted a few Porto matches last year, but it’s been a long time since they were heavily linked to a Porto player. So let’s wait and see if any Dragons’ star did well enough to draw the Premier League club’s attention.
