As you might have heard over the past month or so, Loris Karius, currently at Newcastle United, has been looking for a new club.

He has teamed up with Claudio Marchisio, who has set up his own agency, to find his next step after the Magpies, and with his fiancée Diletta Leotta and daughter both in Italy, that would be the next logical step for him.

It appears moves are being made these days around the Newcastle player, as TuttoMercatoWeb reveal he has been ‘offered’ to AS Roma ‘in recent days’.

The idea that the Serie A side could be interested in the goalkeeper has been floating around for some time, where he would arrive as a backup for Mile Svilar.

However, TuttoMercatoWeb make it clear that this particular attempt was ‘unsuccessful’, but not because they don’t want him.

The reason for that is Roma are currently in some sort of transfer limbo after Tiago Pinto resigned from his spot as general director, and the current director of football, Mauro Leo, has ‘no possibility of making decisions’ about next year’s squad because his own contract ends in June of this year.

Therefore, a new attempt to get the Newcastle goalkeeper in Rome next season might be worth doing later on in the year, when the Serie A team have more of an idea of what direction they are heading in.
