It’s no secret that Wolverhampton Wanderers attempted the signing of Yuri Alberto from Corinthians by the end of the winter window, as Brazilian and English outlets reported the bid.

It turns out that there are some new details coming from South America, as Goal Brasil features a fresh story on the striker’s future.

The outlet writes that Wolves attempted the signing by offering £2m for a loan until the end of the season, and that included a buying option worth £15m.

The problem is that Corinthians only get 50% of the player’s sale, as half would go to his former club Zenit, so that wasn’t enough to convince them.

Sevilla also made an offer, willing to pay €1m for the loan and €18m for the potential purchase, but that wasn’t accepted either.

It remains unclear whether either Wolves or Sevilla would be back for Yuri Alberto next summer.

Goal writes that his staff believe Corinthians would sell their part of the player for €12m, meaning 50% of the total amount, and it doesn’t sound like European clubs are convinced to pay that much for him.
