Ajax’s great run in the Champions League brought their team to a wider audience than would have otherwise been the case, and it’s led to fans of many clubs wanting signings from the Amsterdam side.

Frenkie de Jong is already contracted to play for Barcelona next season, and there’s a good chance his compatriot Matthijs de Ligt will be joining him at the Catalan club. Donny van de Beek has been linked with a handful of teams, and Hakim Ziyech also looks like he could be on the way.

Ziyech has been linked with Arsenal among others, and the club would be a great fit for him, according to a debate held by Voetbal International. The Dutch magazine has looked at potential moves for several players, and when it comes to Ziyech, the opinion is: ‘For Arsenal, Ziyech is the more complete version of Özil.’

VI’s editor took to Twitter to say they feel the Premier League club would an ‘excellent option’ for the 26 year old winger, that’s because he’d suit the playing style and get minutes.

Before any choices can be made, Arsenal would have to make an approach.

Hakim Ziyech has a contract with Ajax until 2021. This season he’s scored 21 goals and contributed 23 assists.
