Thursday night was a rather dramatic one for Celtic.
Seemingly heading out of the Europa League, with Olivier Ntcham’s injury time goal meaning nothing on its own, brighter news came in from Germany.
Rosenborg scored a late equaliser against RB Leipzig, and out of the competition the Germans went, leaving Brendan Rodgers’ men to progress to the knockout stages.
In Leipzig it’s been greeted as something of a disaster, with the club finishing third in a group that they’ll have been confident of winning when the draw was made. That they finished eleven points behind Red Bull Salzburg is a further blow.
Another story of the night was Mikael Lustig’s head injury, with the Celtic captain appearing to lose consciousness. Once back up, the defender decided to, and more crucially was allowed to, carry on before being taken off slightly later.
Aftonbladet have exchanged messages with their compatriot and they quote him as saying: “I think it’s a little concussion. There’s a bit of a headache today, but I’m feeling good.”
Lustig was asked about playing on for Celtic last night, and how that discussion went: “No, I felt good when we talked and remembered everything. I said I could play on. But then they made the decision to replace me.”
Aftonbladet say the footballer will have an examination later on Friday.
