Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few weeks, you will be aware of a couple of rumours involving Thomas Partey.

His father even came forward to say his son had received an offer from Arsenal and urged him to take the money.

This was all refuted by the Spanish press, who claimed his ‘priority’ was to stay at Atlético Madrid, and the player’s agents, but now we have new contradictory reports which could have Manchester United fans excited.

They come from journalist Saddick Adams, who specialises in African football, who took to social media to explain he had received information from ‘a source close to Thomas Partey’ telling him the defensive midfielder ‘doesn’t want to extend his stay at Atlético’.

Were he to leave the Wanda Metropolitano, the Ghana international would ‘favour a move’ to the Premier League and that he ‘loves’ the links to Manchester United.

Furthermore, a deal to bring him to England could be done ‘even sooner than expected’.

Considering Manchester United will need a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matić at some point, a move for the Atlético man makes a lot of sense.

He isn’t all that expensive either, since he has a release clause of €50m, making him a viable target for most big Premier League sides.

Since there would be no negotiating between clubs involved, this could be one of the easier deals to pull off this summer.
