Plaza Deportiva have a claim about Manchester United interest in Valencia’s Gabriel Paulista.

It’s explained the La Liga club have been looking to give the defender a new contract. He’s proven himself to be a good signing since moving from Arsenal and it’s felt he deserves a new deal.

They state Gabriel has also shown loyalty, because there’s been ‘siren songs’ from Manchester United. The Brazilian is said to have resisted the temptation sent from Old Trafford during the winter market.

This is when it’s explained Jose Mourinho was leading the charge for the signing, wanting his club to sign the 28 year old. But the Portuguese manager left the club in December, so unless it happened before that then these claims fall to pieces.

Now it’s said to be Atletico Madrid trying to sign the player. Plaza Deportiva claim a €15m offer has been sent from the Spanish capital, and that’s already been rejected by Valencia.

With Los Ches needing to bring money in quickly from transfers, an exit would always be a possibility, just probably not to Manchester United.
