Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot is not expected to be 100% fit when completing his transfer from Porto to Manchester United this summer.

As newspaper O Jogo reports the player’s move today, they claim that the 19-year-old will be finishing his recovery from a knee surgery in England.

Dalot had a meniscus injury, which left him out of the three last fixtures of the season. O Jogo now claims that he’s expected to move to Manchester in late June, and be completely recovered by mid-July.

This deadline would allow the player to join the Manchester United squad for the pre-season in the United States, when the club will be playing five games in two weeks.

Dalot has given an interview to Rádio Renascença this Tuesday, a little before the news about the Manchester United transfer came out. He claimed that he’s in no hurry for his comeback.

“The recovery is going well. Above all it takes a lot of patience, knowing that it’s a lengthy process and without hurry to achieve maximum recovery. It’s for it to be at the highest level I work. The priority is to recover well from the knee so I continue to evolve.”
